Secured by Design Fixed Rooflight (Part Q) Share

Our secured by design fixed rooflight has been tested by leading independent testing facility, BRE (Building Research Establishment) and achieved LPS 2081:Issue 1 certification. This means that our rooflights conform to the requirements setout in The Building Regulations Approved Document Part Q (Secure by Design). The test involves a timed manual attack using various methods to determine whether the rooflight can withstand an attack by an intruder.

Our rooflights are fully watertight with a high quality, flush glazed and elegant appearance. Our secure by design fixed rooflight incorporates a fully enclosed double glazed unit to eliminate risk of breakage. Traditional stepped edge glass rooflights have a significantly higher vunerability to breakage due to their exposed edges. We also offer our standard fixed roof light units

To achieve secured by design Part Q certification, our rooflights are double glazed with an outer pane of clear toughened and HEATSOAKED safety glass and an inner pane of clear laminated glass. If required we offer blue, bronze or grey tinting or if preferred, an obscure finish for privacy or high performance solar control to minimise solar gain (heat) (g) and maximise light transmittance (Lt).

As with all our rooflight products, this secured by design fixed rooflight is easy to install. An integral perimeter gasket creates an air and water seal without the need for site applied silicone. The product is secured via screw fixing to the builders kerb externally and a matching cover clip is then applied to conceal the fixings.

All our rooflights satisfy the thermal performance criteria defined in the Building Regulations and achieve a high resistance to condensation under normal conditions. We can provide True U-value and Ud-values upon request.

The Duplus rooflight range is tested for weathertightness to BS EN 14351-1:2006 +A1:2010 clauses 4.2, 4.5 and 4.14 – Our test reports are available in our technical section.

As standard, the extruded aluminium perimeter frame is powder coated RAL 7016 dark grey matt or RAL 9005 black matt. We can offer other RAL colour options upon request.

All our rooflight glazing specifications incorporate clear low ‘E’ glass as standard, achieving a centre pane U-value of 1.1 W/m²K.

We deliver our fixed rooflights FULLY ASSEMBLED and fully weathertight. No time consuming assembly on site required. Significantly higher security compared to kit systems.
