Description
Our Secured By Design sliding rooflight has been tested by a leading independent testing facility, BRE (Building Research Establishment) and achieved LPS 2081:Issue 1 certification. This means that our rooflights conform to the requirements set out in The Building Regulations Approved Document Part Q (Secure by Design). The test involves a timed manual attack using various methods to determine whether the rooflight can withstand an attack by an intruder.
To achieve secured by design Part Q certification, our rooflights are double glazed with an outer pane of clear toughened and HEATSOAKED safety glass and an inner pane of clear laminated glass. If required we offer blue, bronze or grey tinting or if preferred, an obscure finish for privacy or high-performance solar control to minimise solar gain (heat) (g) and maximise light transmittance (Lt). As standard all double glazed units incorporate clear low ‘E’ glass achieving a centre pane U-value of 1.1 W/m²K.
Our Secured By Design sliding rooflight is designed purely as a rooflight. Our Secure By Design sliding rooflight is great for opening up more of your internal living space to the outside. This rooflight will provide a large area of natural daylight and ventilation, creating a stunning WOW factor for your property. Great for those extra-long summer days!
Our high-quality thermally efficient rooflight meets the requirements of the Building Regulations. The in-built telescopic sliding mechanism allows the rooflight to support its weight when fully opened. Therefore, without the need for any roof tracks or further roof penetrating supports. The maximum size currently available is 2000mm in width x 2000mm in length. Our sliding rooflight is suitable for flat roof applications up to a maximum 5 degrees slope. All our Secure By Design sliding rooflights are supplied with a touch-sensitive switch as standard (or rocker switch with control panel option).
Our sliding rooflight incorporates a rack and pinion drive with a 24v concealed electric motor. A touch sensitive switch is provided to allow precise control of the sliding rooflight motor. The switch incorporates an in-built transformer (see technical section), simplifying the electrical wiring connections and fits neatly into a standard double gang back box. Optional extras include a rain sensor, temperature sensor or remote control.
The rooflight design incorporates a manual override facility. The override facility enables the rooflight to be closed in the event of power failure. This facility includes a key, which can be used to disengage the rooflights motor. The rooflight can then be manually opened or closed.
The extruded thermally broken aluminium perimeter frame is powder coated RAL 7016 dark grey matt externally and RAL 9910 white matt internally as standard. Other RAL colour options are available upon request.
Our sliding rooflight is easy to install, an internal perimeter gasket allows the rooflight to be placed directly on top of the builder’s kerb without the need for site-applied silicone. It is then screwed to the builder’s kerb externally and a matching cover clip is then applied to conceal the fixings. A qualified electrician will be required to make the final connections to the motor and the transformer switch. Wiring diagrams are provided with all opening rooflights.
The rooflight comes fully assembled and is factory cycle tested to ensure the product’s long-term reliability. In the unlikely event of a motor failure, replacement motor housings are available from Duplus which have been designed to be simple to exchange.
Delivered FULLY ASSEMBLED. No need for time-consuming assembly on site. Significantly higher security compared to kit systems.
